Evie's Big Day 10/30/2008

Jeanette and I, Jamie and Ross all had a great day out last Sunday. It was the Christening of little Evie Catherine McCouat. Second daughter for Jeanette's cousin Andrew and his wife Erin up in Brechin. the Church service was in the little church ot Dun, and the party afterwards was in The Northern Hotel in Brechin. Thanks Andrew and Erin.

Jeanette and I had a meal out the other evening at the Seafood Temple in Oban. The restaurant is owned  by the son of one of Jeanette’s friends from Inchture.

The place is a little bit ‘strange’ in that it has been converted from the old sea front toilets on the coast road heading round to the Kerera Ferry. The Restaurant itself is small, but beautifully decorated with stunning views across Oban Bay. The fish dishes were absolutely delicious and the freshness was unrivalled, but the real treat for us was that there was Scottish line caught Sea Bass on the menu. Mr Ogden came round to inform diners that the Sea Bass are new to this area due to global warming, and that Polish people have discovered them in the Clyde Estuary and have been fishing them. They were really fantastic.

13 Years!!! 10/19/2008

Today is our thirteenth wedding aniversary. It seems to have flown by, and we are as happy today as we were the day Jeanette arrived at St. Madoes Kirk  with her father in their pony and trap.

We are back! 10/19/2008

We are back safely from our west coast holiday. the weather was mixed, but to be expected at this late time of year, but we found the area and our cottage wonderful. The four bedroom house was modern and well equipped and to Jamie's pleasure, it had a Sky dish on the chimney. We had several day trips, but the best was the day Jeanette and I left the boys with their grand parents, and took the car over the ferry to Morven and we drove down to Glenborrodale, then overland to Glenfinnan then back via Fort William. It was a lovely trip.

Oscar, our six months old Airedale puppy has been to the Dog Groomer today to get his first hair cut. I think it has been a great success. He now looks less 'Poodle' and much more terrier like!! He loves his new grown up look.

Aghhhhhhh! 10/04/2008

Jamie " Dad I think there is something on your arm"

Me " What"

Jamie " I think it is a spider!!!!"

Me " Don't worry, spiders are ok.....................................Aghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!"

This spider was in our house. i think it came in with the fire wood.

Blue Sky 10/03/2008

A blue sky,  warm sunshine, and the last day before the boys break up from school for the Autumn Break, so Jeanette and I have been busy in the garden doing all the seasonal 'tidy-up' jobs we can in peace. We dismantled the swinging hammock before the gales,  emptied the coolhouse of all the tender plants, and lifted and packed away the terracotta pots safe from winter frosts.  Our home looks a bit greener with so many plants dotted about, hopefully we will get our Orchids back into flower again this winter.
